Rebecca Adler-Nissen is the director of the Danish National Centre for AI in Society (CAISA), University of Copenhagen.

Rebecca Adler-Nissen is the director of the Danish National Centre for AI in Society (CAISA), University of Copenhagen.

She is a leading voice in the intersection of technology, governance, and diplomacy, her work explores how artificial intelligence can be responsibly integrated into democratic societies.

Her academic background spans political science and international diplomacy, with degrees from the University of Copenhagen and Institut d'Études Politiques. She has held visiting positions at institutions such as the European University Institute, McGill University, and the University of Sydney.

Rebecca’s research focuses on European integration, digital governance, and the societal regulation of AI. She is a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters and has received awards including the Nils Klim Prize and the EliteForsk Prize for her contributions to the social sciences.

At CAISA, she leads interdisciplinary efforts to shape the future of AI policy and innovation in Europe, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government.
