On 1 March 2025, David Dreyer Lassen took office as the University of Copenhagen's Rector number 260. Born in 1973, he graduated with an MSc in Political Science in 1998 and a PhD in 2002, both degrees from the University of Copenhagen. He is Professor at the Department of Economics and has previously served as Centre Director of the Centre for Social Data Science (SODAS), Deputy Centre Director at DG Centre for Economic Behavior and Inequality, Chair of Independent Research Fund Denmark and Prorector for Research and Innovation.
At AIS25, Rector will highlight UCPH’s vision for AI in Science as part of the university’s overall vision for research and innovation in Europe.
